Fantastic
Let us take you on a visual journey through
Malaysia. See for yourself this beautiful
country full of color and filled with energy,
geared for the tourist!

Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, is a
fast-paced modern city that doesn't sleep.
Any time of day or night is the right time in
KL, Kuala Lumpur for short.
Shopping is the
favorite past time here with
Central Market
and
Karyaneka being excellent stops for
Malaysian handicrafts like Batik and
Selangor Pewter. The super malls such as
KLCC and Berjaya Times Square carry
worldwide brands such as Polo, Cartier and
Rolex. These malls are also gathering
places, with excellent restaurants serving
international cuisine. For the tourist on the
go, there is a fair share of delis, coffee
houses and pubs to go around.

Like any modern city, KL 's skyline is
something to brag about. The famous
Petronas Twin Towers, which is a tourist
attraction in itself houses cinemas, concert
halls and a aquarium! Don't forget to walk
the Sky Bridge at the Petronas Twin Towers
which was part of a famous movie scene.
Last, but by no means the least happening area, is the south of KL. The
fun city of
Sunway and the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park is here. Spend the
day on the great water slides, test your surfing skill and ride the rides at
this 80 acre water park. There is also an ice skating rink, shopping and
great dining.
Putrajaya, the administrative capital built to house the
government offices is in this direction as well. Moving further south you
come to
Malacca. Founded some 600 years ago, tales and legends
surround this city. Visit the
Christ Church, St. Paul’s Hill and the famous A’
Famosa. Shop for antiques and ride trishaws!

Island, Malaysia
Let’s go west now from KL towards Taman Negara, the national forest
reserve with hiking trails, waterfalls, limestone caves for exploring, night
safari, flora and fauna, and the famous ‘Canopy Walk’. Yes, you get to walk
the treetops! It doesn't just happen in the movies. The
Kuala Gandah
Elephant Sanctuary is here too. A habitat for rescued elephants, a visit
here is a must if helping bathe elephants in the river sounds exciting to you.
Further north is the sleepy town of Lumut
with its
Turtle sanctuary, Mangrove reserve,
Kellie’s Castle, Charcoal factory, Hot Springs
and the famous
Pangkor Island off the coast.
Bukit Merah and the Orangutan Island for
rescued orangutans should be next.....then
off to Penang Island.

Called the ‘Pearl of the Orient’ many
wonderful memories have been made on the
Island of Penang. Ride the inclined rail up to
Penang Hill, visit the Snake Temple, stop by
Fort Cornwallis, check out the Khoo Kongsi
Chinese clan house or walk up to
Kek Lok Si
Temple. You can also see the Peranakan
Mansion, Burmese Temple and Botanical
Gardens. There is the
Batu Ferringhi
Sidewalk Bazaar for some exciting finds, and
if all else fails, try fishing, boating, para-
sailing, swimming, sunning or the all time
favorite, riding horses on the beach!
In KL, 'Five Star' hotels are the norm and the
night life here is ‘off the hook’! From
symphonies to concerts with international
stars, KL is the happening place. If you are
looking to hang out with the crowd, visit
Bintang Walk, a popular street district. When
the sun goes down, the streets come alive
with pop bands and spin music.

There are numerous tours you can take in
KL. Let’s start with the
Colonial District, a
showcase of earlier times, and the birthplace
of Independence. The Colonial District is not
only for history buffs but for those who like to
get an insight of Malaysia's beginnings.

Not far from the Colonial District is
Lake
Gardens, the Bird Park, the National
Mosque, Monument and Museum. The
Communications Tower has a bird's eye view
of the city and the famous 'Chinatown' has
everything else!

Head north and you will get to
Batu Caves, a
sacred place for Hindus. Climb 272 steps
into the cave and discover the Indian
temples within. Then stop at
Selangor
Pewter and tour the factory. The exciting
Genting Highlands Casino and theme park
should be next, followed by
Colmar
Tropicale, a French countryside resort hotel.

So we head west now towards the city of Shah Alam. The Blue Mosque, the
showpiece of Shah Alam has the tallest minarets in the world. Keep going
west and you will get to Port Klang and Carey Island.
Want to relax? Keep going north to
Langkawi Island, a little remote but none the
less beautiful. The sunsets here are
awesome! Snorkel with fish at the
Payar
Marine Park, visit a fish farm, take an island
cruise, ride the Langkawi cable car, visit a
crocodile farm, or stop at the
'Lake of the
Pregnant Maiden...hmmmm. Do you know
that the state of Kedah is the
birthplace of
Tun Dr. Mahathir? It is also the set for the
movie Anna & the King. Diving, snorkeling,
fishing and sea food…..need I say more
about any of the islands in Malaysia?
So far, all we talked about is West Malaysia. Let us tell you a little about
East Malaysia….and Jacques Cousteau. Visit
Gunung Mulu National Park
and see the
Pinnacles. Explore the Niah Caves of Sarawak which were
inhabited some 40,000 years ago or
Bako National Park, the best place to
see wild life. The
Sarawak Cultural Village and the tribal market place are
other exciting stops. How about a visit to a long house? Well, you will just
have to discover that for yourself. What are you waiting? Start at the
navigation bar or ‘blue link’ and let us take you there. When you are done
looking around, don’t forget to stop at the “Book Travel” to make your
